Maritime Management are currently seeking a Crew Manager for our fleet of bulk, reefer and exploration vessels.

Previous experience in a similar role is important.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain and manage a system for crew rotation including dealing with all administration and related paperwork of crew personnel.
  
  
• Arrange for the logistics of bringing crew to and from the ships.
  
  
• To ensure that company crewing instructions are followed
  
  
• Ensure crew has the correct certificates in accordance to position, ship type and flag and make application and forward equivalent certificates to ship where appropriate.
  
  
• Liaise with crew agencies to appoint new crew, review and vet prospective crew applicants, verify qualification and validity in accordance with position and coordinate related documentation
  
  
• Administer logistics and communications in case of crew sickness or accident and if applicable co-ordinate with ship P&I club.
  
  
• Ensure officers and crew compliance with ISM procedures, STCW and flag state regulations. 
  
  
• Mentor, supervise and encourage crew.
  
  
• Maintain and develop crew welfare initiatives and facilitate crew retention measures among the fleet.

 

Your Profile will be:

• Self motivated and capable working independently
  
  
• Have good understanding of international shipping, ship operations.
  
  
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
  
  
• Have good “People Management” experience preferably marine related, including recruitment, co-ordination and management of personnel.
  
  
• Good communication skills, able to multitask.

English is our working language but if you are multi lingual, especially Russian, this will be an advantage.
